48-year-old unlicensed driver Fatima Mohammed panicked and fled after fatally striking and running over motorcyclist Ian Johnson, 73, at a Hastings roundabout. Johnson, who suffered multiple injuries including fractured ribs and spine, died in Wellington Hospital almost three weeks after the incident. Mohammed was sentenced to community detention, community work, and supervision for her actions.
