Pune police have issued an order under Section 144 of the CrPC prohibiting transgender individuals from congregating at traffic junctions and forcibly demanding money from commuters. This follows numerous complaints received by the police. The order also prohibits uninvited visits to houses during festivals, births, and deaths, where transgender individuals have been known to forcefully demand money beyond voluntary offerings.
