Costco's gold bars contribute $100M-$200M in monthly sales, reports Wells Fargo. The wholesaler began selling one-ounce gold bars in October 2023, priced at $2,000. Equity analysts suggest the gold sales provide a low-profit business, with Costco pricing the gold just 2% above spot prices and offering 2% cash back to executive members and an additional 2% in cash back for those with a Citi card.
