The University of Southern Mississippi's Hattiesburg campus resolved a security incident involving a wanted individual with felony charges, who was armed and threatening self-harm in a parking garage. Campus police, along with local and state law enforcement, located and negotiated with the suspect, resolving the situation without injuries. The individual is now in custody of the University Police Department, to be transferred to the Simpson County Sheriff's Office.
