Former Maharashtra Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam has criticized the party for becoming ideologically irrelevant and its leaders "monumentally arrogant". Nirupam, expelled from Congress for his alleged "indiscipline" and making "anti-party statements", said the Congress had become scattered ideologically and organisationally. He claims there are now five power centres within Congress, each with their own lobbies, that clash with each other.
