Croydon University Hospital was partially locked down after a woman was found with a possible hazardous substance. The incident occurred when the London Ambulance Service (LAS) received a report of a woman ingesting poison in Thornton Heath. Two Metropolitan Police officers exposed to the substance are under observation. Parts of the hospital were initially closed off, but the lockdown was later stood down.
