Oregon Republican Sen. David Brock Smith threatened to sue a House candidate and a former radio host over allegations suggesting he's connected to the Chinese Communist Party. Sen. Smith's attorney sent a cease-and-desist letter to House candidate Ben Edtl and former radio host Rob Taylor, accusing them of violating state law by publishing false statements about a political candidate. If the pair don't remove the false claims, Sen. Brock Smith will pursue legal action.
