Afghanistan's central bank, Da Afghanistan Bank, is set to auction 17 million US dollars on Sunday to maintain the stability of the national currency, the afghani. This follows an auction of 16 million dollars on March 25 to keep the afghani strong. The afghani has been appreciating against foreign currencies, particularly the US dollar, with the exchange rate dropping from 73 afghanis in February to 71.5 afghanis in March.
