India's economy can reach close to 9% growth in the next five years by implementing additional reforms, according to Arvind Panagariya, Chairman of the 16th Finance Commission. Panagariya said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made India a friendly place for businesses, leading to increased investment. With current economic growth at around 7%, India can realistically push this to 8-9% with further reforms.
