Two minor girls, Meenakshi (8) and Payal (11), from Daulatpur village in Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh, were found dead in a water-filled pit. The Basic School students went missing after school hours on Friday and their bodies were discovered the next day. Their toys made of pond mud were found nearby. No signs of injury or foul play were found, but the police await the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death.
