Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego's four companies owe the government 63bn pesos ($3.8bn) in unpaid taxes, according to the head of Mexico's tax authority, Antonio Martinez. The claims stem from 17 different court cases covering audits from 2008-2018. Salinas, who accuses the government of extorting businessmen, said he and his companies pay an "obscene" amount of taxes and he called on the government not to interfere in the court cases.
