French Bulldogs remain the most popular purebred dog breed in the US for the second consecutive year, according to American Kennel Club (AKC) rankings. Frenchies surpassed Labrador Retrievers in 2022 and continue to lead in 2023, followed by Labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, German shepherds, and poodles. The popularity of French bulldogs coincides with an increase in dogs entering US animal shelters.
