Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan establishes a legislative committee to investigate the cause and response to the Texas Panhandle wildfires that burned over 1 million acres. The Investigative Committee on Panhandle Wildfires, consisting of five members, will focus on what contributed to the fires, resource allocation, disaster preparedness, and coordination between local, state, and federal government agencies. The committee aims to release a report by May 1st.
