32-year-old Simona Halep's doping ban reduced from 4 years to 9 months by CAS, allowing her to return to tennis.

Former Wimbledon champion Simona Halep has been cleared to return to tennis following a reduction of her doping ban from four years to nine months. The 32-year-old Romanian tennis star faced the ban after testing positive for the blood-boosting drug Roxadustat at the US Open in 2022. Halep appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and, following a hearing last month, the court reduced her suspension. In a statement, Halep expressed her belief in the truth and her faith in the process. She is now free to resume her tennis career with immediate effect.
