Australian casino operator Star Entertainment reports a fall in first-half net profit.

Australian casino operator, Star Entertainment, has reported a 43% fall in normalized first-half net profit as revenue declined amid tighter gaming controls and softer consumer spending. Star Entertainment's normalized net profit for the six months through December fell by 25.0 million Australian dollars. The company attributes the decline to a combination of factors, including increased guest exclusions, higher levels of risk and compliance resourcing, and a more competitive environment.
