India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has proposed monthly virtual meetings between fintech entities, start-ups, and regulators to address concerns and discuss issues. This follows recent regulatory issues faced by Paytm's banking unit, Paytm Payments Bank. The meeting highlighted India's third-largest fintech sector, with approximately 10,244 entities, and focused on rationalising the cost of lending and funding for critical areas, and improving the ease of doing business and living for consumers.
