House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul is threatening to hold Secretary of State Antony Blinken in contempt of Congress for failing to provide key documents related to the U.S.'s withdrawal from Afghanistan. At the center of the issue are interview notes used in the State Department's After-Action Review of the Afghanistan withdrawal. McCaul has given the Department until March 6, 2024, to produce the files or face contempt charges.
