In Kansas, Johnson County has rejected demands from the local sheriff and state attorney general to preserve old ballots and records longer than legally allowed for an election fraud investigation. The county shredded materials from 2019, 2020, and 2021, following state law. Sheriff Calvin Hayden has questioned the integrity of the county's 2020 elections, but there have been no criminal charges.
