A human skull was discovered at the BP Oil Refinery in Whiting, Indiana, initiating an investigation.
A human skull was found on the grounds of the BP Oil Refinery in Whiting, Indiana, leading to an ongoing investigation by the Lake County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force and the Lake County Coroner's Office. The remains were discovered by a crew excavating the area to conduct maintenance work on a pipe system. This is the third time human remains have been found in East Chicago, Indiana, this year.
