Woodside Energy sells 15.1% stake in Scarborough LNG project to JERA for $1.4B, including annual LNG cargoes from 2026.
Woodside Energy has agreed to sell a 15.1% stake in its flagship Scarborough liquefied natural gas (LNG) project to Japan's largest power producer, JERA, for $1.4 billion. The deal, which also includes the sale of six LNG cargoes per year for a decade starting in 2026, demonstrates the importance of the project to Japanese customers and the long-term demand for supply. Woodside remains the operator and owner of a 74.9% interest in the Scarborough joint venture after the stake sale.
