Police in Chippewa Falls issued a statewide warning after two men, one identified as Chris Jefferson from Illinois, attempted a fundraiser scam at a local bank. They allegedly sold candy bars claiming the money would benefit mentorship programs and college scholarships through a Boys and Girls Club in Chicago, though the club denied any association. Similar scams have been reported in other areas of the country.
