College Board ordered to pay $750k settlement for unlawful sharing of NY student data in 2019, prohibiting monetization or solicitation during exams.

The College Board, which oversees the SAT and AP exams, has been ordered to pay a $750,000 fine for unlawfully sharing the personal data of students with colleges and scholarship programs. The New York Attorney General's Office found that the organization shared the data of 237,000 New York students in 2019. As part of the settlement, the College Board will also be prohibited from monetizing the data of New York students in the future.
