Saanich council supports farmers Galey and Koettl's temporary-use application to rent vehicle-storage space for income, despite a public complaint and P&AAC's rejection recommendation.

Saanich council has supported two farmers from Blenkinsop Valley in their bid to rent out vehicle-storage space on their properties for additional income. The council agreed to forward their temporary-use application to the Agricultural Land Commission, despite the Peninsula and Area Agricultural Commission's recommendation to reject it. The farmers, Gordon Galey and Ernie Koettl, faced a complaint from a member of the public alleging they were receiving compensation for storing vehicles on their land.
