World-record tree burl, Port McNeill's symbol, is being relocated to downtown gateway with a $32,000 Island Coastal Trust investment before summer tourism season.

The world-record tree burl, a popular tourist attraction in Port McNeill, is being moved to a new spot at the gateway to the town's downtown after it was charred by a fire last year. The Town of Port McNeill and local volunteers aim to complete the project before the summer tourism season with a $32,000 investment from Island Coastal Trust. The new location will be more visible and revive a piece of the town's history.
