Ghana's Parliament implements new standing orders, requiring MPs to recite the National Pledge daily, roll call for attendance, and direct appearances by heads of state institutions.

Parliament in Ghana has implemented new standing orders, requiring Members of Parliament (MPs) to recite the National Pledge at the start of each daily session. This change also includes a daily roll call for MPs to ensure attendance is recorded accurately. The new standing orders, which came into effect on February 6, 2024, also require heads of state institutions to directly appear before Parliament to address any inquiries related to their agencies, as opposed to Ministers of State representing them during questioning.
