Indian Department of Space receives 4% budget increase to ₹13,043 crore in Interim Union Budget 2024-25 for lunar exploration and human spaceflight missions.

The Indian Department of Space has received a nominal 4% increase in its allocation to ₹13,043 crore in the Interim Union Budget for 2024-25. The increase is attributed to pre-launch testing milestones for lunar exploration and human spaceflight missions, as well as other projects. In 2023, the Indian Space Research Organisation successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3 mission, the Aditya-L1 mission to study the sun, and the XPoSat mission to track and study neutron stars and black holes from space.
