Joseph Zadroga, a prominent advocate for 9/11 first responders who suffered from serious respiratory ailments, passed away after being hit by a vehicle in a New Jersey parking lot. Zadroga, 76, was standing outside his car when 82-year-old James McNeal accidentally hit him while pulling into a space. He was the former chief of the North Arlington Police Department and father of NYPD Detective James Zadroga, who was the first NYPD officer to die after reporting ground zero-related health problems.
