Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December and underwent a minimally invasive surgical procedure called prostatectomy. He was admitted to the hospital again on January 1st due to complications from the surgery, including nausea with severe abdominal, hip and leg pain. Initial evaluation revealed a urinary tract infection. On January 2nd, he was transferred to an intensive care unit for close monitoring and a higher level of care. His infection has cleared, and he continues to make progress towards a full recovery.
