Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, is tightening content controls for teens.
Meta plans to tighten content restrictions for teens on Instagram and Facebook, placing them into the most restrictive content control settings. Teens will be restricted from seeing content discussing suicide or self-harm, as well as mentioning restricted goods. The changes come after accusations that Meta's platforms have damaged the mental health of children and teens.
