On January 10, 2024, a 34-year-old man was shot and killed by police in a Nowra, NSW GP clinic after he pulled out a gun during an argument with his doctor.

A patient has been shot and killed at a GP clinic in Nowra, NSW during an alleged armed standoff with police. The man was allegedly armed with a semi-automatic pistol when he confronted officers. All four people in the clinic were able to make their escape from inside the doctor's surgery. The case will be independently reviewed by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission and a brief will be prepared for the Coroner of New South Wales.
