Ireland's Civil Court of Appeal upheld a ban on farmer Patrick Heffernan entering land sold for €1.5 million to a US businessman.
A permanent ban on Tipperary farmer Patrick Heffernan entering 83 hectares of land remains in place after Ireland’s Civil Court of Appeal dismissed his request to extend an appeal of a 2025 ruling.
The land was sold for €1.5 million to US businessman Maurice Regan following a mortgage default.
Heffernan, who had been jailed for 87 days for refusing bail to stay away from the property, claimed the sale was invalid, but the court found no breach of fair procedure and ordered him to pay costs.
