Following the February 2026 assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country’s leadership has become fragmented. While his son, Mojtaba, was elected the new leader, he remains out of public view and reportedly severely injured. Experts say the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) now holds dominant influence over security and economic affairs.
