A man died and his dog perished in a house fire early Thursday morning in Chicago’s Edgebrook neighborhood. The blaze broke out around 5:50 a.m. in the 5800 block of North Louise Avenue, spreading from a car to the garage. First responders found the man with severe burns and pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim's name or the official cause of the fire.
