Bystander helps stabbed paramedic in Melbourne attack.

A bystander intervened during an unprovoked attack on an on-duty paramedic in Reservoir, Melbourne, on Thursday morning. The paramedic, who recently became a father, was stabbed in the neck and slashed in the face from behind by a man who fled in a small red car. A 32-year-old suspect was arrested at a nearby property just before 1pm and is being questioned by detectives. The paramedic sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized.
