Willis left a drinks event after hearing offensive language used by a journalist against a colleague.
Finance Minister Nicola Willis abruptly ended a pre-Budget drinks event in her office last May after allegedly hearing offensive language, including a homophobic slur, used by TVNZ political editor Maiki Sherman against Stuff journalist Lloyd Burr.
Willis confirmed she returned to the room to hear the comments and later checked on Burr, who declined to pursue the matter.
TVNZ and Stuff declined to comment on internal employment matters, while Labour leader Chris Hipkins said he could not comment.
