Prada launches Indian-made sandals to address cultural appropriation.

Prada is releasing a limited-edition line of Indian-made sandals inspired by traditional Kolhapuri footwear following backlash for cultural appropriation. The brand will produce 2,000 pairs in Maharashtra and Karnataka, blending local craftsmanship with Italian technology. Additionally, Prada launched a three-year training program for 180 artisans, delivered by Indian design institutes and the Prada Group Academy in Italy.
