Man sentenced to 3.5 years for stalking and breaching AVO.
A Flinders man, Chad Carberry, 48, has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for a prolonged and calculated stalking campaign against a Wollongong woman.
The offenses included multiple breaches of an Apprehended Violence Order, six counts of stalking, and the illegal use of tracking devices to monitor the victim's car, home, and associates.
Despite an interim AVO, Carberry repeatedly breached it and was arrested in September and October after being spotted near the victim's home and tracking devices were discovered under her car.
The judge rejected a community-based sentence, calling the conduct persistent and premeditated.
Carberry will serve a two-year non-parole period and become eligible for release on October 7, 2027.
