Former Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne, who also served as a U.S. senator and Interior Secretary under President George W. Bush, has died at age 74 in Boise after a battle with colon cancer. A Republican, Kempthorne began his career as mayor of Boise and was remembered for his bipartisan leadership and dedication to public service.
