Alaska groups urge Park Service to prioritize subsistence or restore old rules.

Alaska Native groups and the Alaska Outdoor Council have submitted public comments to the National Park Service regarding proposed rule changes for Alaska’s national parks. While the Native organizations advocate for prioritizing subsistence use, the Outdoor Council supports restoring pre-2015 regulations to better protect natural resources. The Park Service is currently reviewing the feedback before finalizing the rule.
