76-year-old man drowns bodysurfing at Kona beach.

A 76-year-old man from Kailua-Kona died Wednesday at Kahaluu Beach Park after reportedly drowning while bodysurfing. Police responded around 10:47 a.m. to reports of an unresponsive man in the water. Lifeguards and bystanders performed CPR and used an AED before transporting him to Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death, and police are asking for any tips regarding the incident.
