UK DVSA warns drivers must use headlights at night despite automatic lighting.
The UK's Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has warned drivers there are "no excuses" for failing to use headlights at night.
Under Highway Code rules, drivers must switch on headlights from sunset to sunrise and in poor visibility, even if their car has automatic lighting or illuminated dashboards.
The agency stresses that sidelights do not illuminate the rear of a vehicle, making it nearly invisible and increasing collision risks, particularly on unlit roads or motorways.
