Yorkshire releases 180 endangered crayfish into river to fight invasive species.

Over 180 endangered white-clawed crayfish were released into Haverdale Beck in North Yorkshire, marking a significant step in conservation efforts. The juveniles were raised at Yorkshire’s first crayfish hatchery, a partnership between the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and Flamingo Land, to boost survival rates for the native species threatened by invasive signal crayfish.
