Study finds autonomy predicts life satisfaction more than emotions or relationships.

Analyzing data from over 1,200 adults in Canada and the U.K., researcher Jason Payne concluded that while positive emotions and connections matter, a person's sense of freedom in making life decisions is the most consistent indicator of overall happiness.
