Turkey to not renew natural gas deal with Iran amid stalled negotiations.

Turkey's Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced that the country's long-term natural gas agreement with Iran, set to expire in July 2026, will not be renewed at this time. While Iran currently supplies 13% of Turkey's gas imports, actual deliveries have consistently fallen short of contracted targets. Bayraktar stated that regional tensions have stalled negotiations, and Turkey is actively seeking to diversify its energy sources, including potential Russian LNG imports.
