Three LA residents convicted of staging fake bear attacks for insurance fraud.

Three Los Angeles-area residents were convicted of felony insurance fraud after staging bear attacks on luxury vehicles using a costume to fake claims. The scheme, uncovered by the California Department of Insurance, resulted in insurers being defrauded of over $141,000. The suspects were sentenced to 180 days in jail and two years of probation.
