German Chancellor Friedrich Merz plans to announce Germany's potential participation in securing the Strait of Hormuz during a Paris meeting. Berlin would contribute mine clearance and reconnaissance capabilities, but only if there is a ceasefire, a UN mandate, and Bundestag approval.
