Ford and Chow launch Ontario Line tunneling for Toronto's new rapid transit line.

Premier Doug Ford and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow have announced the official start of tunnelling for the Ontario Line, a 15.6-kilometre rapid transit project. Two tunnel boring machines began digging underground from Exhibition Station toward the Don Yard, with the line expected to open in the early 2030s. The project aims to serve nearly 230,000 residents and reduce crowding on the TTC by 15% during peak hours.
