Roughly 34,000 New York City building service workers represented by 32BJ SEIU are set to vote on Wednesday to authorize a strike as their contract expires on April 20. The workers, including doormen and superintendents, are demanding better wages, pensions, and healthcare benefits while rejecting proposals from building owners to introduce health insurance premiums and a lower-paid tier for new hires.
