Librarian identifies WWI soldier from photo, returns it to his granddaughter.
A librarian at the State Library of Victoria identified a World War I soldier from a photo anonymously donated to the library.
Using a ray of sunlight to reveal faint writing on the back, Ann Copeland determined the soldier was Harold Ross Clark, a 25-year-old lieutenant who died in Belgium in 1917.
After extensive research, Copeland located Clark's granddaughter, Dinah Stehr, who expressed deep gratitude for the photo's return.
