Indie film resurrects Val Kilmer using AI in new historical drama trailer.

A trailer for the indie film "As Deep as the Grave" features a generative AI recreation of late actor Val Kilmer as Father Fintan. The project, based on real archaeologists Ann and Earl Morris, continued after Kilmer withdrew due to health issues. Filmmakers Coerte and John Voorhees worked with Kilmer’s children and the Screen Actors Guild to ensure ethical use of the technology, comparing it to traditional historical portrayals. The film is expected to be released later in 2026.
